New DCI Promo Announcement: LOLSpellz
I would like to take this opportunity to announce a new promo Wizards of the Coast is offering to players who regularly attend Friday Night Magic and other Magic: the Gathering tournaments. The textless promos have been hugely popular, but unfortunately some players forget what a card does when it has no text printed on it. So we have made a comprimise: We will offer you a hint as to what the card does, but we won’t waste your time with the exact Oracle text.
Sound sketchy? A few years ago we had a mistake in the templating deparment and a card went out with very strangely templated text. The card? Nekrataal.
Since that time, our research has shown that, of all the cards we have printed, we get the fewest rules questions about Nektrataal. If we were to write a FAQ about Nekrataal, it would have one question on it: Does a Nekrataal can kill? Presumably players find this templating very easy to understand because its rules text hits the sweet spot between cumbersome accurracy and nonexistence. So we have replaced the textless cards promo with the new and improved LOLSPELLZ promo. Here’s what you can look forward to in the months to come:

Shadowmoor Preview!
by Mark Rosewater
Hello and welcome to Shadowmoor preview week! As you may have seen by our teaser Shadowmoor booster, this time around we’re doing some pretty cool things with hybrid mana – pretty cool things in a pretty cool/big way. But as you will see with today’s preview card, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!
As I’ve pointed out in my past articles, I’m all about elegance. Elegance and simplicity. Nothing sends me into a fit of small man rage harder than a card with a line of text that doesn’t need to be there. With that in mind, we have reworked an old favorite and made it much simpler with our friend hybrid mana. Take a look:
Transguild Courier! Yes, one of the best “build around me and lose” cards from Dissension is back for another go-around in Shadowmoor. Players have always found colorless mana symbols confusing, so introducing the
symbol was a no-brainer that also took away the Courier’s only line of text. Simplicity!
I know the question on your mind: will the Courier’s partner in crime Might of the Nephilim be coming back? Are you an idiot?
Until the next time, may you never run out of ideas.

‘Chops: Best of Skeletor
The first thing I posted on MT was some terrible photoshop of Demon tokens. I think I just added reminder text saying it was a token or something, making fun of the WotC reminder text.
The second photoshop was the fractal split card. I don’t have the original, but I later redid it using proper frames:
It was a smash success, and probably the reason I kept posting at MT.
People also enjoyed this one while Arnold was running for Governor, and there was some scandal about him groping somebody.
Then I missed so bad with my Goblin Pussy Wagon photoshop that I didn’t even save it.
Someone responded to this with a clampclamp — an equip that equpped to equips.
So I did a summationclamp:
When Daniel Myr was doing MODO stuff, he kept giving us info and retracting it later:
This was in response to some argument where someone kept calling Goblin Sledder a Mons’ Goblin Raiders or something:
This was in a “make a card making fun of yourself” thread:
Nobody found this as funny as I did:

I hoped people would use this to tell people to STFU on the forum, but they didn’t:
This was during 5th dawn spoilers. I guess we knew it was going to be a weird set. We did not yet know there would be a -1/-1 sunburst creature.
This was a demonstration of how I keep my life total IRL;
And this is my fav:

If you chop something and would like it featured on the front page, include (in your thread-starting post) a hyperlink to an icon’d version of your file that’s scaled like this image: icon
Then let me know by PM or MT2 chat that you’d like it featured.
In order to ‘chop something, simply get Photoshop or Gimp and download the Chop PSD found in the Pragmatic Links Zone at the top. Inside you’ll find a layered Photoshop file that lets you make cards, and fonts to install so that you have the right fonts (you might have to change the card text font to MPlantin rather than Plantin).
Also, do you see the goodgamery.com watermark at the bottom of the card above? Stick that in there, too. That way if people directly link to your hilarious card, others will know where to go.
